Final meeting of `Golden Nets` Erasmus+ programme at Finland
One of the key objectives of VTI of Municipality of Volos (KEKPA - DIEK), is the most complete education and training of its students, which is enhanced by their participation in European Programs. At the beginning of the entries for the new educational year 2018 -2019, President S. Halari and the Board of KEKPA - DIEK, were informed about the completion of the 4th Erasmus + K2 GOLDEN NETS meeting in Finland. The meeting was of great interest as it took place at the OMNIA School in Espoo, with an average annual number of 3,000 students in the field of Applied Arts!
During this time, the implementation of the European ECVET Credit Facility, which is being implemented progressively throughout Europe, was completed. Their provision will be another professional resource for the students of IEK of the Municipality of Volos. All participants attended chain-production seminars by silversmiths and were guided to jewelry makers in Helsinki, who practice or work with students and graduates of the school. They also visited the excellent Helsinki Design Museum, the Suomenlinna Island and its museum, housed in the castle of the island, and were informed through projections of the site`s Cultural Heritage.
The project`s two-year plan (2016-2018) included seminars, workshops, education and practical application in new technologies, lectures and student contact with the cultural heritage of each country.
The benefits from such actions do not stop with the graduation of students, but they continue in their subsequent course in the labor market.
