VTI of Volos Municipality - KEKPA-DIEK , at the Transnational Meeting in Valenza Italy for Erasmus+ project, `The future is our jewel`.
During the implementation of the KA2 Action Strategic Partnerships: `` Collaboration for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices in Vocational Education and Training `` in the framework of Erasmus + 2014-20 entitled `The future is our jewel` / `The future is of our jewelry », by KEKPA-DIEK, VTI of Volos Municipality took part at the training visit in Valenza, Italy from 27 to 31 January 2020.
At the Meeting, which took place at For.al School, participated four students of Jewelry department, their teacher Mrs. Leta Argyrakou and the President of KEKPA-DIEK Mrs. Natasa Morfogianni
The project "The future is our jewel» brings together 6 partner schools around a common object, the creation of jewelry whose cultural heritage and professional history are different. Thus, the program addresses the need to highlight diversity in the field of jewelry so that these different techniques used in various European countries become resources of shared wealth and learning opportunities, resulting in new knowledge and techniques for personal and professional development of students in jewelry field.
With the four pillars of the project, equality, sustainability, unity and tolerance, the project partners want to combine the 4 elements (Water, Air, Fire and Earth) from which come the materials for making jewelry and relate them to the past, present and future in the three phases of the project.
The work program over the three years relates to four types of activities for the methodology of implementing and managing the strategic partnership: 1) RESEARCH, 2) JEWELRY CONSTRUCTION, 3) CATALOG CREATION, 4) EXHIBITIONS, promotion of the work of students and schools!
Students attended the inauguration of the 2nd Traveling Pan-European Exhibition for 2020, consisting exclusively of `air` student work in relation to the `present`. The jewelry department of VTI of Volos Municipality participated with 13 jewels in the exhibition held at the Centro Comunale di Cultura. After Valencia, the exhibition will be presented in Madrid, Porto, Thessaloniki, London and will end in Volos in June 2020.
The workshops on various goldsmithing techniques were daily at school! Students took part in ``nailing `` gem workshops, productive jewelry (candle-casting), computer jewelry design, gem cutting and engraving.
On a day trip to Milan, the team visited Naviglio Grande canal, Duomo Cathedral and Palazzo Reale where they attended Van Cleef & Arpels Jewelry exhibition `` Time, Nature, Love `` which was truly impressive!
A unique experience for the VTI’s team was also the visit at the new BVLGARI facility in Valencia with 600 employees, the post modern place of Jewelry production in Europe nowadays. The tour throughout the production process was great! Workshops with technologically advanced equipment separated in 26 small ‘islands’ with 22 craftsmen each who complete the unit`s production daily.
A very important offer for VTI of Volos Municipality was the invitation - from the company human resources manager- for a 6 months paid internship and after that an employment contract for our graduates, as soon as the 2nd production unit of the company will be completed in the same area!
The President and the Vice-President of KEKPA-DIEK , A. Morfogianni and A. Zarkadas - Vergis as well as the Volos Municipal Authority , reinforce and promote similar European actions having in mind that the benefits through the Erasmus + programs do not stop at the graduation of students, but continue on their course to the labor market.
