‘New Technologies in VET’ Erasmus + project for the VTI of Volos Municipality, KEKPA - DIEK in the Czech Republic
The new Erasmus + project, ‘New Technologies in VET’ of VTI of Volos Municipality in Prague, was successfully implemented between 26/4 - 11/5/2022. The mobility was attended by 4 Students and 2 Instructors of Fashion Design specialty as well as 1 Student and 1 Instructor of Photography specialty. The group attended classes at the Czech Higher Fashion School, Vosonspso, and contacted Panska School of Photography.
The Vosonspso School workshops and mobility activities were aimed at training, enhancing knowledge, contact with techniques and modern equipment, and finding ways to collaborate between people from different social, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The participants worked on design (digital clothing design, art techniques in practice, technical sketches, graphics systems - with special magnetic, pad and pen - figural drawing) and on the production of clothes and accessories (digital patternmaking, patternmaking techniques, sewing activities with machines - state-of-the-art equipment). They also worked on the design of the human body and the creation of clothing on a scale while they were informed about the design and creation of shoes and accessories.
As part of the teamwork, inspired by Czech culture, they worked with traditional and modern techniques. The creation of clothes, as well as all the teamwork using modern techniques, machines and tools, at the same time with the familiarization, gave results in real time. The material, the know-how, the business information and in general the data given to the participants in the form of photocopies, forms or electronic files, offered the possibility of continuous knowledge, not only for them but also for other students and instructors of Diek,while adding value to their education and training.
The photography team worked with Fashion photography, photoshop, action recording and photo-video editing, while being informed about the courses and equipment related to photography, video, TV as well as the data of the profession in the Czech Republic, by Professors of Panska School.
Contact with the ‘world’ of Clothing, Fashion, Photography and Culture in Czech Republic, information and data for better access to the labor market, and methods that cultivate a European conscience and collectivity were also an important part of the action. The National Folklore Museum with it’s great wealth in clothes of older times, the Museum u (p) m and its annexes, the Museum of Mucha, the National Gallery with creations of distinguished artists (Miro, Picasso, klimt, Lautrec etc. ), the National Museum with its infinite and varied exhibits (especially the impressive 20th century wing with original costumes and clothes), the Castle Museums, the DOX Museum of Modern Art (with its rich collection of fashion books), the Technical Museum, the Annual Prague photo 2022 exhibition, the Checz Photo Awards exhibition, the Leica gallery, the GASK Gallery (Kutna Hora), the Atelier of Bianca Matrazi, the Atelier of Leeda, the exhibition `Reklama Polygraf Obaly (with state-of-the-art products, for the printing of fabrics, photographs, etc. as well as 3d printing), the shops of famous Czech and internationally renowned Designers - Fashion Houses on Pariska Street (and the whole district) and the theater (Radio Robot) and dance performances ( Phoenix) with their impressive costumes and sets, offered the participants a great amount of cultural experiences.
The expected learning outcomes for the participants were achieved at a large scale, all received official recognition (Certificate of Participation) for their participation in the activities, while they will also receive a Euro pass certificate of EOPPEP. The evaluation of the learning outcomes will continue for a long time even with their application in the tasks undertaken by the students and their application in the educational program of IIEK.
The VTI of Volos Municipality, KEKPA - DIEK as a contemporary educational organization which leads to the formation of an educational system that must meet the dynamics and respond to the challenges of nowadays confirms once again that Vocational Education and Training - an important tool at European education policy - contributes to the achievement of many and varied economic and social objectives, a high level of employment, social cohesion and the maintenance of competitiveness for the benefit of sustainable development and the reduction of youth unemployment.
The President of KEKPA-DIEK Mrs. Sofia Chalari as well as the Municipal Authority of Volos support and promote European Erasmus + actions, the benefits of which do not stop by graduation of students, but follow them in the labor market.
